Unheard Voices: Stories of Entrepreneurs from Main Street

By Bryan Zhao

Unheard Voices Book by Bryan Zhao

Bryan Zhao, Founder and President of Youth Voice for Small Business (YVSB), has published Unheard Voices: Stories of Entrepreneurs from Main Street. The book is available on Amazon, and all proceeds will be donated to support small business initiatives.

This book is the first in a series that records and amplifies the voices of small business owners. In this volume, the stories of ten remarkable entrepreneurs are brought together. Based on in-depth interviews and lightly edited for clarity, each chapter preserves the authenticity of their voices.

The narratives trace their entrepreneurial journeys, memorable experiences, reflections on the shifting business and political climate, messages to policymakers about the small business environment, and hard-earned lessons for the next generation.

Within these pages, you will meet an immigrant engineer who built a thriving company from the ground up, a franchisee who transformed military discipline into the foundation for successful chiropractic clinics, a restaurateur navigating geopolitical upheavals, a filmmaker reinventing himself after financial loss, and seasoned business brokers helping others achieve the American dream. Though their paths differ, their stories converge in a shared voice of perseverance, adaptability, and passion.

Above all, this book is a testament to the resilience of America’s small business owners, to the wisdom they offer future generations, and to the need for their voices to be heard in shaping the policies that affect them. Different journeys brought them here. But together, they speak with the same voice, a voice that deserves to resonate far beyond their storefronts and offices.
